NC against change in guard: Nidhi
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) general secretary Bimalendra Nidhi today termed the demand for a change in guard coming in from few NC leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister Sujata Koirala, as personal.
Nepali Congress, as a party, is not in support of a change in guard; if anyone makes such a demand, it is their personal demand and is against the party line, Nidhi said.
Speaking at the Reporters' Club Nepal, Nidhi said: "If any minister is dissatisfied with the government, he/she should either resign or discuss the same within his/her party."
The NC has had to face several "disputable speeches" from the DPM earlier, while the party will try to understand the reality about her recent remark about the change in guard, Nidhi said.
On the demand of change in the coalition at Friday's parliamentary party meeting of the NC, he said, "NC lawmakers just aired their dissatisfaction on the performance of ministers and did not speak on the change in guard."
Nidhi further accused the UCPN-M of trying to change the guard in an irresponsible manner.
He said that the issue of state restructuring should be settled through a high-level commission of experts. "The political issues should be sorted out by parties, while technical issues should be resolved through an experts' commission," he said.
Hinting at the agitating Unified CPN-Maoist, he said, "There is no justification of any movement in the country at present.
