NC-D to abide by NC whip
Paudel to head inter-party coordination panel
Kathmandu, April 27:
The Nepali Congress (Democratic) today decided that constituent assembly should top its agenda, followed by process to bring the army under the parliament. The party also decided to go by the the road map of the alliance. The party has agreed to keep its separate identity in the parliament but will not go against the whip issued by Nepali Congress.
Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress today named a five-member Inter-Party Coordination Committee headed by General Secretary Ram Chandra Paudel as coordinator. Members include Ram Sharan Mahat, Mahesh Acharya, Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Dilendra Prasad Badu.
The party has also formed a five-member committee to advise the parliamentary party with Binay Dhoj Chand as coordinator.
Committee members include Dil Bahadur Gharti, Anand Prasad Dhungana, Tarini Dutta Chataut and Benup Raj Prasai. This was decided following a meeting headed by vice president Sushil Koirala today.
Nepali Congress spokesperson Krishna Prasad Sitaula said, “The NC need not draw up its political agenda like the CPN-UML or others since we have the agenda which has been passed by the General Convention of the party, which, among others, reinforces election to constituent assembly.”
“We will also go by six-point road map of the seven-party alliance,” Sitaula added.
