NC dissidents lambast party brass

Pokhara, January 27:

Nepali Congress general secretary KB Gurung has urged the top leaders of his party not to support all the wrong-doings of the Maoists. Speaking at a programme organised by the central committee of Nepal Peasants Association here today, Gurung said, “Nepali Congress

leaders were criticism at joint mass meetings recently and tight security was needed in Terai for holding the joint mass meetings just because our party supported them on all occasions.”

He said the party leadership was not following decisions passed by the NC mahasamiti. He said that the Maoists have not abided by any understanding, and added that they were engaged in extortion, abductions, murder, capturing of land and houses. The Maoists have killed even the journalists and yet they have not brought the murderers to the public, he said. He claimed that the CA poll if held at the present condition would not be meaningful.

NC leaders Govinda Raj Joshi, Bijay Kumar Gachhadar and Khum Bahadur Khadka also spoke in the same vein. Khadka said t the people have begun doubting that the Janajati and Tarai issues may overshadow the CA poll, adding that the seven parties should work to resolve the Tarai problems.
