KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 20

Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Tika Chaudhary Bhul has been elected unopposed as the Chief of the District Coordination Committee (DCC), Kailali.

According to Returning Officer Premraj Bhatt, Bhul was declared elected unopposed after Nagarik Unmukti Party leader Dagaura Tharu withdrew his candidacy today.

Previously elected as a ward member of Kailali Rural Municipality, Bhul stood for the DCC chief position uncontested, as other political parties, including the CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Center), and CPN (Unified Socialists), did not field candidates for the post.

The position became vacant following the demise of Padam Bahadur Kalel, who had been elected as the Chief of the Kailali District Coordination Committee in the local elections two years ago.
