KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 29

The Nepali Congress is on its way to becoming the party with the highest number of seats in the Parliament. It has already won 53 first-past-the-post seats. Besides, it was leading in two constituencies till 8:00pm today.

The main opposition CPN- UML, has won 43 FPTP parliamentary seats and is leading in one constituency.

The CPN-Maoist Centre has won 17 HoR seats; Rastriya Swatantra Party has won seven seats; Rastriya Prajatantra Party has won seven seats; the CPN (US) has won 10 seats; Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal has won six seats and is leading in one constituency; and Nagarik Unmukti Party and Democratic Socialist Party-Nepal have won three and four seats respectively.

Meanwhile, the CPN-UML is leading the vote count for the parliamentary proportional representation seats. Till 8:00 pm today, it had got 26,86,920 PR votes, the PR vote count for the NC was 25,39,476 votes, the Rastriya Swatantra Party has secured 10,96,987 PR votes, the CPN-Maoist Centre has got 11,42,742 PR votes, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has got 568,430, PR votes, Janmat Party has got 345,410 PR votes, the CPN (US) has got 280,753, PR votes, Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal has got 397,170, and the Nagarik Unmukti Party has got 247,652, PR votes.
