Armed Maoists forcibly harvested the paddy crop in over 12 bighas of land belonging to a Nepali Congress cadre of Karkap Karmaiya VDC. The Maoists took away all the paddy. NC cadre Girija Prasad Upadhyaya in Tokuliya Tole of VDC-8 had planted Bhadai Dhan, a species of rice, but the harvest was not to be his.

Some 300 Maoists surrounded the paddy field and kept camping until they harvested all the paddy today, said Upadhyaya. “The Maoists captured my paddy field and took away the entire harvest. They threatened to kill me when I objected,” he added.
