NC meeting sought
Kathmandu, February 19:
The Nepali Congress (NC) party leadership is coming under increased pressure from its Central Working Committee (CWC) members to convene a formal meeting “so that members of the party can give suggestions on a host of issues of tremendous significance.”
This is was what CWC members stressed during an informal meeting at Baluwatar. “Several members were present at the informal meeting.
There were demands for early convening of a meeting so that “we can suggest the party about what to do on a host of issues including the tarai and the best way out,” said NC CWC leader Baldev Majgaiya.
He pointed out that the party is concerned about how much arms the Maoists have registered and whether the Maoists will ever return the seized property to the rightful owners.
“They were supposed to return the seized property, but have not. Will they ever return the property is the vital question,” Majgaiya said, adding the “meeting could be called in a day or two.”
