KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Minendra Rijal has pointed out the need of shaking up party organisation from the provincial level to suit the federal set up. For this to happen, party's mahasamiti meeting must be held immediately, he underscored.

During a press meet organized by Rafat Media Club here Sunday, leader Rijal said party's statute was also waiting amendment. He argued that NC should now be based on people by expanding its base from cadres.

On a different note, leader Rijal said NC would work constructively for the country, staying in opposition after the formation of the new government. According to him, the leftist alliance could do homework for government formation rather than nitpicking about current government's activities.

The election to the National Assembly would be held on the slated date which would pave way for the new government, he further informed. The issue of border encroachment is a complicated one, so all parties should be serious about it, leader Rijal argued.
