As the race for the formation of government starts, voting to elect parliamentary party leader of the Nepali Congress, is underway.
Voting has started in the NC parliamentary party office premises at Singha Durbar this morning.
NC leader Shekhar Koirala, who had initially expressed desire to contest the parliamentary party leader's post, finally supported Thapa, becoming the proposer of Thapa's candidacy. Senior NC leader Ramchandra Paudel, meanwhile, proposed Deuba's candidacy.
Gagan Thapa became the only opponent to NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba in the contest for the parliamentary party leader.
