NC supports Oli-led govt, says Shrestha
Jhapa, January 3
Former Minister and Nepali Congress leader Gopal Man Shrestha today said his party, as the major opposition, would wholeheartedly support the KP Sharma Oli-led government.
Addressing party cadres in Birtamode of Jhapa today, Shrestha urged the government not to get scared of the main opposition, as it would honestly support it.
“But we fear the government might be toppled due to foul play by the coalition partners themselves because of their partisan interest,” he argued.
He said that as his party was positive towards the demands put forth by the agitating Madhesi forces, it had registered the constitution amendment bill in the Parliament.
Meanwhile, NC central leaders Gyanendra Bahadur Karki claimed that NC wanted the country to be relieved from the present crisis with necessary help from the opposition.
Another leader Keshav Kumar Budhathoki highlighted the need to hand over the party’s leadership to the young generation.
