NCED bid to hike pass rate in SLC exams
Kathmandu, January 13:
To increase the pass rates of School Leaving Certificates (SLC) examination, the National Centre for Educational Development (NCED) is sending books prepared especially for students from remote districts.
According to NCED, three subjects, namely English, Mathematics and Science have been printed in a book and will be distributed after the board meeting next week. The books will be distributed to 22 remote districts free of cost.
According to NCED, the have not been able to cater to the demands of the students.
The NCED has made an SLC support programme and is spreading it through various modes such as print media, audio and video.
The SLC support programme has been airing itself through government-owned radio every week Sunday, Monday and Friday 15 minutes every evening. The SLC support programme is being aired December 25 till January 17 on Radio Nepal. The programme is aired on Nepal Television twice a week Thursday and Friday.
Besides, NCED is providing training to secondary, lower secondary level teachers. The SLC examination is starting from March 14 and a total of 4,80,000 students have filled the forms to sit for SLC sent up examination scheduled to start from January 3rd week.
