NCP (NCP) Co-chair Dahal calls provincial govt not to overtake federal govt

JANAKPURDHAM: Co-chairperson of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the provincial government should not indulge in acts that would endanger the nation, system and the constitution.

Speaking at a function organised by the party in Janakpur today, he said, “There will be risk of an accident if the provincial government tries to overtake the federal government.” He feared that such acts would give rise to anti-federalism elements.

The former prime minister also urged all concerned not to follow extremist and secessionist elements and stressed the need to defeat forces trying to create an independent Madhes state. “Only national unity can establish the identity of the Madhesi people,” he said.
