NC’s win must for prosperity, says PM

Prime Minister and President of the Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba today urged all to vote for his party and candidates in the upcoming parliamentary and provincial elections slated for November 26 and December 7.

PM Deuba said NC’s win in the elections was must for constitution implementation and economic prosperity.

Deuba said the alliance between the CPN-UML and the CPN-Maoist-Centre was aimed at dismantling democracy and establishing communism in the country. ‘It is a struggle between democratic and communist forces,” remarked Deuba.

“In a communist rule, there won’t be freedom of speech, multiparty system and human rights,” he said, addressing an event held here to mark the 102nd birth anniversary of Ganesh Man Singh, who spearheaded the ‘1990 people’s movement’.

PM Deuba also urged the supporters of democratic system to follow Singh’s path.

On the occasion, NC leader Prakash Man Singh said his father Ganesh Man Singh was as an honest leader who never practised the politics of opportunity.

Ganesh Man Singh Academy Chairman and NC leader Nabindra Raj Joshi said Ganesh Man Singh would always be remembered as an ‘iron man’ in Nepali politics, for his contribution to democracy in the country.
