Locals of Kanakpur VDC in Rautahat district padlocked the Nepal Electricity Authority sub-branch office in Chandranigahpur on Wednesday, demanding to repair power transformer burnt a month ago. Nawal Kishor Goit, chief engineer at the NEA, said the 25 KB capacity transformer was burnt after the locals stole power by using hooking illegally. He said the transformer would be replaced soon. — HNS
