Employees of Nepal Electricity Authority Distribution Centre, Gaur, padlocked the office of centre's chief and staged protest for an hour today.
Staffers at the NEA distribution centre padlocked its chief's office and administration office, wore black armbands and halted their work for an hour. NEA Employees' Union, Council, and Association have warned of staging indefinite protest from Monday.
Five NEA staffers were injured after duck farm proprietor Lalbabu Sah attacked them physically when the former had reached the farm to cut the power cable for not paying the bills and hooking the power. Out of the five, three staffers have their hands fractured and two have sustained minor injuries. NEA employees have been protesting demanding that guilty involved in the incident be booked and sent to jail. Police have nabbed one person and filed a case against him manhandling charges. Agitating employees have expressed their discontent to this.
NEA Employees' Union Unit Chair Sandip Kumar Singh warned of waging the indefinite protest from Monday if all people involved in the incident were not booked and murder case was not filed against them.
Rautahat DSP Binod Ghimire said that police had nabbed the proprietor and launched a manhunt to nab other people involved in the incident.
