Nembang stresses peaceful dialogue
Kavre, February 7
Former speaker of the Constituent Assembly Subas Chandra Nemwang expressed discontentment about the constitution yesterday.
Speaking at a function organised in Dhulikhel, Nembang expressed dissatisfaction.
Nepali Congress leader Nabindra Raj Joshi, constitution expert Daman Nath Dhungana, professors Lok Raj Baral and Krishna Khanal, former vice-chancellor of Kathmandu University Suresh Raj Sharma, among others, were present at the interaction.
Nembang, however, said, “This constitution is a common document of compromise, hence, it can’t incorporate the voices and concerns of all communities across the country.”
Citing the example of the Indian constitution, he said it was amended more than 122 times. Similar was the condition in the United States of America, he said.
He claimed that the constitution was a great achievement of the people and they should respect it.
