Nepal Army starts plantation in Bara
BARA: Nepal Army’s Plantation Task Force has started planting trees in compensation to the loss created during the construction of the Kathmandu-Tarai Fast Track project, on the occasion of Constitution Day in Bara.
Nepal Army has contracted to plant 25 trees for every tree that had been cut. Hence, the task force is planting 500,000 trees for 20,000 trees that were cut, said Plantation Task Force Nijgadh, Bara - Lieutenant Colonel Sushil Kumar Karki.
Nepal Army, in coordination with Division Forest Office of Bara, has surveyed empty lands in the national forest and community forest area. Currently, It has identified land with a measure of 188 hectares and plans to identify the empty lands in other places of Bara and Makawanpur.
The very same land used to be an encroached land, which had been emptied for plantation now, informed Ward Chief of Kolhabi-8, Sarthak Paudel.
