KATHMANDU, MAY 15

A team of Nepal Army personnel along with Sherpa climbers today scaled the world's highest peak.

According to Ang Babu Sherpa, Managing Director at Peak Promotion Pvt Ltd, the team led by Colonel Kishor Adhikari stood atop Mt Everest under the mountain cleaning campaign at around 10:05 am.

The clean-up campaign team members including Captain Dipendra Singh Khatri, Capt Bishnu Bal Rai, Jawan Kishor Jabegu and Shankar Kuwar scaled Mt Everest, he said.

Along with the team, Ongchhu Sherpa from Bhojpur, Phurba Sherpa, Lakpa Sherpa and Phurba Dorchi Sherpa from Sankhuwasabha also reached the summit point, he added.

According to him, the team will attempt to scale Mt Lhotse in a day or two.
