KATHMANDU, APRIL 10

CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has warned that Nepal's economic crisis was almost akin to Sri Lanka.

Addressing a programme organised in Kathmandu today, Oli said, "We are soon going to be another Sri Lanka." Sri Lanka is facing its worst economic crisis since independence and there is long queue for basic goods.

He said the state of the economy was so bad that government employees should not be surprised if they did not get their pay. "If senior citizens are not paid their allowance, they should not be taken aback either," Oli said.

He said the ruling coalition leaders were not concerned about the economic crisis that the country was facing. "Coalition leaders are happy that they dislodged the CPN-UML government," Oli said and added that his party was eagerly awaiting the election.

Once the monsoon of election comes, the UML will rise from under the stones.

Nobody can stop the UML, Oli said.
