CPN (Unified Socialist) has formed a 1,111-member Main Election Mobilisation Committee.
The committee chaired by party chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal was formed in view of the upcoming local level elections slated for May 13.
The meeting of the central secretariat of the party formed the committee comprising members and office-bearers from the party's central committee, central commissions, central advisory council and senior communist forum. Similarly, an 11-member election mobilisation central secretariat coordinated by party general-secretary Beduram Bhusal has been formed. A list of criteria has been set for the eligibility of candidates to vie for seats from the party in the upcoming election.
The procedure for recommending the candidates and decision-making has been determined according to the CPN (Unified Socialist). The ward committee has to recommend candidates by April 13, while candidates should be recommended by the municipality committee by April 15.
