The Nepal-India border coordination meeting concluded in Mahendranagar on Wednesday with an agreement to boost security in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in India.
During the meeting, security officials from both countries also agreed to work together to control criminal activities in the Nepal-India border area.
Chief District Officer of Kanchanpur, Gopal Kumar Adhikari, stated that discussions were held on the Lok Sabha elections in India and issues of mutual interest at the local level.
Navneet Pandey, the head of Champawat district in India, mentioned that discussions focused on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in India and resolving local-level problems. Pandey also noted a campaign to make Uttarakhand drug-free by 2025, with commitments from Nepal as well.
Representing Nepal, Chief District Officer of Kanchanpur Adhikari, Assistant Chief District Officer Dharmaraj Joshi, Superintendent of Police of Kanchanpur Chakraraj Joshi, and Superintendent of Armed Police Force Khagendra Bahadur Chand participated in the meeting.
