‘Nepal is safe’ campaign launched

KATHMANDU: Embassy of Nepal in Bangkok organised a tourism promotion programme with the slogan ‘Nepal is Safe: Visit, Enjoy and Help Nepal’ at Phuket in Thailand on Friday.

Heads of Phuket-based government offices, travel entrepreneurs, and journalists attended the function. Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand Khaga Nath Adhikari said only 15 per cent of tourist destinations were affected by the earthquakes. He invited and encouraged Thai people to visit Nepal. He also requested tour operators to send more tourists to Nepal.

On the occasion, Consul of Nepal in Phuket Panatchakorn Jaiyen, on behalf of Phuket Tourist Association, announced a donation of 320,000 Thai Baht for quake victims. Likewise, representative of Accor Hotel handed over 170,000 Thai Baht to Ambassador Adhikari.

The Embassy has initiated tourism campaign with the ‘Nepal is Safe’ slogan in different parts of Thailand and other accredited countries, including Singapore and Lao PDR. It had organised a similar programme in Bangkok on June 16, while its future programmes are scheduled to be held in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on June 27, and in Singapore on July 2.
