‘Nepal Night’ to promote tourism

Kathmandu, December 20

The Embassy of Nepal in Sri Lanka organised a tourism promotion programme ‘Nepal Night’ in collaboration with Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Airlines Corporation and Nepal Travel and Tour Agents on 15 December 2017 at Bandaranayake Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka.

A large number of Outbound Travel Agents/Tour Operators, diplomats, members of Federation of  Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka-Nepal Business Council, Sri Lanka-Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Chairperson of SAARC Women Entrepreneurs’ Council prominent media houses and their representatives attended the programme, the Embassy of Nepal in Colombo stated in a press release.

The programme was divided into: Formal Opening, B2B Session and Reception.

Nepal’s ambassador to Sri Lanka, Prof. Bishwambher Pyakuryal delivered the welcome address on the occasion. He said the tourism industry has a major role to play to boost the economy of the country, and Sri Lanka and Nepal both can benefit from the well-established linkages between the tourism industries of both countries.

The event was followed by Destination Presentation by Rohini prasad Khanal, officiating director of Nepal Tourism Board. Pratibha Sharma from Nepal Airlines Corporation also addressed the gathering. Bikram Pandey made an illustrative presentation on the Buddhist Circuit in Nepal.

Twelve travel and tour companies from Nepal presented their products and had business meetings with tour operators in Sri Lanka. All the invitees were presented with gifts, which included tourist destination information, handicraft products and information about Nepal.
