Public urged to verify before making monetary transactions

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 27

Nepal Police has issued a public alert warning citizens not to fall prey to fraudulent online lottery schemes being promoted through social media platforms.

According to the notice shared on its official Facebook page, police have been receiving complaints about fraudsters luring people into purchasing so-called "online packages" with false promises of winning lotteries via live sessions.

The police have urged the public to avoid making any monetary transactions without verifying the authenticity of such schemes.

Authorities confirmed that further investigation into the scam is currently underway.
