KATHMANDU, AUGUST 24

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 751,001 on Tuesday with 2,020 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 702,183with 2,086 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,568 with 35 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 14,810 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 9.909 were PCR tests while 4,901 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,849,304 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 505 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,525.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 93.5%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 38,250.

So far, a total of 8,801,330 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 4,943,732 have received the first dose while only 3,857,598 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 393 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

In the same time frame, 518 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 119 and 52 cases respectively.

On Monday, Nepal's coronavirus caseload had reached 748,981 with 1,548 people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 213 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.4 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 190 million people have recovered while more than 17 million cases are still active.
