The active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal dropped to 5,340 on Thursday as 77 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.

The latest reported number of infections carried the nationwide tally to 977,786 while the death toll remains at 11,949 with zero fatality.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 960,497 with 429 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 9,328 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 6,801 were PCR tests while 2,527 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 5,469,595 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 35 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 112.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.2%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.2%.

Currently, there are 106 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
