KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 30

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 828,207 on Thursday with 235 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 811,746 with 228 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll remains at 11,590 with no fatality today.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 4,871 against 4,864 a day before.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 8,897 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 6,814 were PCR tests while 2,083 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,851,470 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed six positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 241.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

Currently, there are 103 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

So far, a total of 24,282,360 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 13,971,668 have received the first dose while only 10,310,692 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

As many as 56,112 people received Covid-19 vaccine today alone.

Globally, over 283 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 5.4 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 251 million people have recovered while more than 25 million cases are still active.
