Nepal, Tajikistan establish ties
Kathmandu, September 14:
Nepal and the Republic of Tajikistan established diplomatic relations after foreign ministers of the two countries signed the Memorandum of Understanding at the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations in New York yesterday. “The establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries has opened a new chapter in our relationship,” a press statement issued by the Foreign Ministry said today.
Foreign minister Ramesh Nath Pandey attended the concluding ceremony of the 59th and opening of the 60th session of the UN General Assembly yesterday. According to the Foreign Ministry, Pandey also met the Bhutanese foreign minister Khandu Wangchuk earlier. “The ministers shared views on strengthening ties and implementing accords reached between the two governments for the resolution of Bhutanese refugee problem.”
