Nepal, United States to conduct joint disaster drill

Pokhara, December 15

The Nepali Army and the US Army Pacific of the United States are set to conduct a joint disaster rescue exercise in Pokhara.

The preparation for the joint exercise set to be held in five months has started. According to Deputy Secretary Nabraj Baral at the Office of Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Gandaki Province, a preliminary deliberation has started for the joint exercise. The exercise will last for eight days.

Baral said the exercise was being held in Pokahra for the first time.”The two armies will share their experiences of rescue operation with each during the joint exercise,” he added.

Representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law of Gandaki Province, Kaski CDO Office and security agencies  were present at the discussion.
