Nepal received 102,626 international visitor arrivals in May 2026, a 19 percent increase over the 86,216 arrivals recorded in May 2025 and 31 percent above pre-pandemic May 2019 levels of 78,329, according to data published by the Nepal Tourism Board.

India remained the largest source market with 40,782 arrivals, accounting for 39.74 percent of total visitors. China followed with 11,514 arrivals (11.22 percent), the United States with 9,001 (8.77 percent), Bangladesh with 5,298 (5.16 percent), and the United Kingdom with 3,375 (3.29 percent).

By region, South Asian SAARC countries contributed the largest share at 47.2 percent, followed by other Asian markets at 19.9 percent, Europe at 13.1 percent, the Americas at 10.3 percent, Oceania at 3.1 percent, the Middle East at 1.5 percent, and Africa at 0.3 percent.
