Nepali Congress carries out nationwide protests
KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has organised a nationwide protest today planned against the federal and provincial governments’ ‘arbitrary moves that have undermined the rule of law’.
The party had planned to stage demonstrations in all 77 district headquarters in a bid to make the public aware of the government’s ‘autocratic’ and ‘anti-people’ activities.
The protest rally in Kathmandu started at Bhotahiti and passed through Ason and New Road before converging into a corner meeting at Shanti Batika in Ratnapark.
Various leaders are addressing the corner meet. Hundreds of supporters and cadres have participated in the protest, which has been carried out peacefully.
Likewise, similar demonstrations are being carried out by Nepali Congress supporters in various district headquarters of the country including Pokhara and Biratnagar, among others.
