Nepali Congress, UML condemn Kedia's kidnapping

KATHMANDU: Major political parties of the nation including Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have condemned the abduction of Kedia Organisation's Executive Director Suresh Kedia by an unidentified gang on Thursday evening.

The abductors had also thrashed and injured Kedia's driver Shyam Sah Kanu.

NC central office chief secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel today issued a press statement and condemned the incident.

The party has urged the government to maintain peace and security of the people and take action against the culprits not to let such incidents repeat in future.

Meanwhile, issuing a statement, UML central office secretary Krishna Gopal Shrestha said the party's serious attention was drawn toward the incident.

Shrestha also wished for speedy recovery of injured Sah Kanu.

The party also urged the government led by its Chairman KP Sharma Oli to ensure peace and security, and requested the business community to uninterruptedly operate their businesses without deviating due to such criminal incidents.

Meanwhile, Kedia's whereabouts is still unknown.
