NC leader Saud slams UML

Dhangadi, April 5

Nepali Congress central member Narayan Prakash Saud has accused CPN-UML leaders of inciting communal hatred and violence in the country.

Speaking at a press conference organised here today, Saud said, “The country is bracing for constitution amendment, but the UML which is busy in activities that only serve to sow the seeds of hatred among different ethnic communities.”

Saud asked the people to rest assured about local polls. “Let’s be assured that the NC will do all it can to hold elections successfully, as this is an issue of prestige not only for the party but also for the people,” he argued.

Various other speakers also spoke on the occasion, criticising the UML and expressing their confidence about the party’s role in implementation of the statute.

Meanwhile, in order to facilitate the party programme slated for Sunday, a 1,001-member committee has been formed under the leadership of NC Kailali president Nara Narayan Shah.

NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior leader Ramchandra Paudel, among others, will speak at the regional-level programme.
