NC panel wins in Arun Rural Municipality-1 of Bhojpur
BHOJPUR: Nepali Congress candidates have bagged all the posts in Arun Rural Municipality-1 of Bhojpur district on Thursday.
In the second phase of local level elections, Nagendra Khatri of NC has been elected chair of the ward no. 1 in the municipality with 582 votes against 466 votes garnered by his closest competitor Jeevan Tamang of CPN-UML.
Meanwhile, other posts — women member, Dalit member and two open members — in the ward were also won by NC candidates.
As the counting of votes is underway, NC's candidate for chairman of the rural municipality Gajendra Bahadur Karki is ahead with 565 votes followed by UML's Narayan Ghimire with 469 votes.
Similarly, NC's candidate is leading the race of vice chairman in the rural municipality.
