KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala extended best wishes and greetings to the Prime Minister, the government, political parties and people of India, on the occasion of 67th Republic Day of India.

Sending a message to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, NC President Koirala extended the greetings on the behalf of his party, its members and his own.

Koirala said that the multifaceted relations existing between Nepal and India are based on understanding, goodwill and cooperation both at the Government and people's level.

Koirala also expressed belief that the age-old friendly relations existing between the two countries and the people sharing fundamental democratic values and dignity, will widen and deepen further in the years to come.

The message reads, "We count on India's continued support in strengthening democratic institutions and the foundations of peace and stability. We look forward to pursue socioeconomic transformation with an overall framework of democratic polity as desired by the people of Nepal."

Also former Prime Minister, Koirala, wished for good health and happiness of Indian PM Modi as well as for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of people in India.
