NC spreading rumours against left alliance: Oli
Gaighat, December 2
CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli said the incumbent government would be the last one under the leadership of Nepali Congress.
Speaking at an election gathering in Gaighat, Udayapur today, the UML chief said, “The country will surely have a leftist government after the polls. The present government led by Sher Bahadur Deuba is definitely going to be the last one under NC leadership.
Further, he described the ongoing elections as a battle between progressive forces and regressive forces and said only a majority government led by the left alliance could ensure sustainable development and the rule of law in the country.
On a different note, the UML chair accused NC of spreading rumours against his party. “Congress leaders and cadres know that the left alliance’s victory is imminent. So, out of frustration, they must have been telling people that our victory will impose totalitarianism, autocracy in the country,” he said.
Claiming that his party has always struggled for the kind of political system that the people wanted, Oli said respecting the people’s mandate never amounted to authoritarianism. “NC is clearly misleading the people telling them that victory of UML will curtail rights of the people and obstructs economic growth of the country.
