Nepali Congress to hold protests in all local levels today

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 15

Nepali Congress is set to hold protests against the dissolution of the House of Representatives in all the 753 local levels on Saturday.

Issuing a press release, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba appealed to all the citizens to express solidarity with the protest to be held in their respective local units. Nepali Congress has been on the frontline to denounce and protest the prime minister’s move to dissolve the HoR, which it has termed as unconstitutional and undemocratic.

Earlier, it had organised protest programmes in 165 HoR constituencies and 330 Provincial Assembly constituencies.

“We have deemed the House dissolution an constitutional and undemocratic move of the prime minister against the public spirit. Therefore, I appeal to all NC cadres and general public to participate in the protest programme to be held tomorrow,” said NC President Deuba.

Meanwhile, senior leader of the NC Ramchandra Paudel has called in everyone to expose the unconstitutional and undemocratic move of PM Oli. In a video message, he said the PM had admitted himself that he had taken an unconstitutional step by dissolving the HoR.
