KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 9
Authorities in southern parts of the country have temporarily sealed border crossings with India's Bihar state ahead of the legislative elections there.
In Saptari, all border points adjoining India's Madhubani and Supaul districts will remain closed from midnight of November 9 to midnight of November 11, according to Chief District Officer Tukaraj Pokharel.
Similarly, 11 border points in Mahottari district have been closed for 72 hours, from 6:00 p.m. on Saturday until 6:00 p.m. on November 11, said Chief District Officer Indradev Yadav.
The district administrations have issued high alerts and suspended all cross-border movement except for emergency cases during the closure period, citing security measures related to the Indian elections.
