Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Udayapur district secretary arrested

GAIGHAT, UDAYAPUR: Police have arrested Baburam Subedi, a senior leader and the district secretary of the Netra Nikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) here on Thursday as the Udayapur district administration intensified search and arrest following bomb attacks on election candidates in the district.

Subedi was arrested from Ghumne in Belaka Municipality in the eastern part of the district.

On Wednesday, police had arrested Bal Bahadur Magar, the mastermind behind the ambush of a vehicle carrying an election candidate from the Nepali Congress at Danuwarbesi of Udayapur Gadhi, police said.

With this the number of Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN leaders and cadres getting arrested on the charge of carrying out anti-election activities has reached 11, according to the police.
