New mother airlifted for urgent medical care

BAJURA: A new mother seeking urgent medical assistance has been rescued through a chartered helicopter in Bajura district.

Ramila Rokaya (22) of Rautbada, Budhinanda Municipality-1 in Bajura was airlifted to Kohalpur Medical College in Nepalgunj for immediate treatment after the placenta got stuck post child-birth. A relative said that Rokaya was heavily bleeding and had grown weak, even unable to speak.

On the direction and initiative of the Social Development Minister of Sudur-Paschim Province, Krishna Subedi, the patient was taken to Nepalgunj in an army helicopter, said District Police Office, Bajura.

Sudur-Paschim government has been providing such services to patients seeking urgent medical care where airlifting is the only possible option.
