A Sherpa climber from Sangkhuwasabha today scaled Nanga Parbat in Pakistan becoming the world's youngest climber to have scaled 8126-metre peak.

"This morning, 26th June 2023 , at 7:15am local time (Pakistan), Nima Rinji Sherpa and his climbing partner Pasang Nurbu Sherpa successfully climbed one of the most technical and difficult mountain in the world , Nanga Parbat," Seven Summit Treks shared.

According to SST Director Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, Nima successfully ascended the peak at the age of 17 years and 68 days, which makes him the youngest ever to do so.

Earlier in the last spring season, Nima also set the world record on Mount Everest and Lhotse at the youngest age by climbing double headers (8000ers) at 17 years 35 days on 24 May within 10 hours, he added.

In 2022, Nima from the Seven Summit Treks and 14 Peaks Expedition, set the world after becoming the youngest person in the world to have scaled Mt Manaslu real summit.

Nima is the youngest son of record holding climber Tashi Lakpa Sherpa.
