Nine-year-old girl dies in animal attack

DAMAULI: A nine-year-old girl has lost her life after being attacked by a leopard in Bhakunthok of Bhanu Municipality-2, Tanahun district, Friday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Pushpa Adhikari, said District Police Office, Tanahun. Adhikari, who had been missing since 6:00 in the evening, was found in a lifeless state in a jungle near her house around 9:15 pm.

The body of the deceased was taken to Damauli Hospital for postmortem after being identified last night, informed police. The girl was attacked on her neck by the wild animal.

Just two months ago, two other children in the area had lost their lives to leopard attacks while one had been injured.
