NMA seeks end to power cuts
Kathmandu, January 12:
Nepal Medical Association (NMA) today urged the government to address the problems plaguing the nation’s health sector.
Saying that the increase in load-shedding hours has affected health facilities across the nation, the NMA asked the government to either stop power cuts in health facilities or provide necessary subsidies to acquire alternative energy sources. The NMA also asked the government to curb increasing criminal activities in the Tarai.
Dr Kalpana Bachchar and Dr Balbhadra Das were recently of threatened with life by Tarai outfits, the NMA stated in a press statement.
It also suggested opening a separate health university to monitor health education institutions.
