No alternative force to NCP (NCP) for transforming Tarai region: Leader Nepal

RAUTAHAT: Former Prime Minister and Nepal Communist Party (NCP) senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal on Sunday remarked that there is no alternative force to NCP (NCP) for a transformation of the Country and Tarai region.

He said so while addressing the mass cadre meet in Gaur, district headquarters of Rautahat today.

"NCP (NCP) has an obligation to trudge the nation towards economic prosperity by prioritising infrastructural development in all provinces."

The East-West Highway expansion project, Nijhgadh Kathmandu fast track, Nijhgadh International Airport, Industrial corridor, Railway track, Koshi Kamala river diversion for irrigation, among other big projects in the Tarai are underway for the development of the region, according to the NCP (NCP) leader.

He also urged all stakeholders to unite for completion of the projects in stipulated time.

Expressing dissent over the rampant corruption in the name of development in local levels, Nepal said, "These local representatives should be identified and booked under the existing laws so that the development can be realised by the people."

He also pointed out that the new Civil Code and Criminal Code Act would abolish existing social taboos such as dowry, violence against women, caste system and child marriage among others while stressing the need for increasing literacy in the region.
