No bone to pick with PM: Dahal

Panchthar, October 22

Nepal Communist Party Co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said he did not have any disagreement with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in relation to concluding the unification of the erstwhile CPN-UML and Maoist Centre.

Talking to journalists in Phidim, Panchthar, Dahal dismissed media reports that his relationship with the PM had soured.  “I held talks with the PM regarding party unification yesterday,” Dahal said, adding “We have agreed to move ahead in consensus by resolving disputes and disagreements seen in the party.” He urged all not to believe rumours and false news about his relationship with Oli.

Dahal, however, admitted the party’s unification process had been delayed. He said agreements and understandings inked at the time of unification were being implemented. “We have agreed to abide by the agreements in letter and spirit and the remaining things would be settled at the time of general conference,” he said.

Dahal said his party, the government and main opposition party Nepali Congress were in talks and they would resolve conflict-era cases at the earliest. He urged all not to ask questions about the Cabinet reshuffle, saying it was within the PM’s jurisdiction and solely depended on the PM.
