Hetauda, December 26

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation Management Ramesh Lekhak today said there would not be any budget shortage for construction of Kanti Highway that joins Lalitpur to Hetauda.

Speaking at an interaction with journalists in Hetauda after monitoring the road, minister Lekhak claimed that the government would manage necessary budget for construction of the road.

“This road, which was being used for the past six decades with minor repairs, will be upgraded with an estimated budget of Rs 2 billion. He said that at least seven metres of road would be blacktopped while 15 metres on both sides would be left by allocating budget in the new fiscal.

Chairperson Rabindra Adhikari of the Development Committee of the Legislature Parliament drew the attention of the concerned locals saying that unless the stakeholders heeded, no developmental programme would be completed on time.

According to Devendra Shah, the project chief, construction of the 90-kilometre road from Buddhachowk of Hetauda to Satdobato, Lalitpur is being carried out on a war footing.

A team comprising Minister Lekhak and the Chair of the Development Committee of the Legislature Parliament Rabindra Adhikari, among others, monitored the road today.
