No operation of Khotang green road
KHOTANG: The Diktel-Khotang Bazaar green road has not come to use even after three years of its construction.
The 74-kilometre road constructed with the assistance of the UK government under Rural Access Programme has yet to come to public use.
It took 11 years for the RAP to complete the construction of the environment-friendly road at the cost of around Rs 363.2 million.
Apparently, the road structure will require equal amount of expenses to bring it to the use.
Locals voiced their concern for the apathy of the sides concerned to carry out necessary maintenance of the road – the only way linking the district headquarters with the southern part.
With the operation of the road stretching from Alchhedhunga of Diktel to Khotang Bazaar in the south, locals of more than three dozen VDCs of constituency 2 will be directly benefitted.
