NPTF approves projects

KATHMANDU: The Board of Nepal Peace Trust Fund on Thursday approved two projects worth Rs 636 million for supporting livelihoods of conflict-affected people and for strengthening the Local Peace Committees.

One project will be implemented by Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction in collaboration with Tribhuwan University.

The project aims to strengthen the Local Peace Committees for promoting local peace, and is expected to cost Rs 146 million, according an MoPR press release.

The other project will provide support for socio-economic integration of conflict-affected people through vocational training and enterprise development.

This project will be implemented by a consortium of five agencies led by the Ministry of Industry and is expected to cost Rs 490 million.

Both projects will be implemented in 35 districts that have been most affected by the conflict.
