NRCS provides home loan, relief package

KHOTANG: The Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS), Khotang chapter, has provided Rs 1.5 million in home loan to the earthquake affected families in the district.

A total of 100 worst affected families in the district were given Rs 15,000 each and other logistics with support from the International Federation of Red Cross.

Chairman of NRCS Khotang chapter, Kumar Singh Basnet, said that people rendered homeless after the April 25 earthquake were selected to offer loan and other relief materials.

Basnet said the 18 families in Bahunidanda, 12 in Lamidanda, 11 in Kharpa, 10 each in Badahare, Dhitung, Arkhaule and Nundhala, and 8 in Dikuwa were selected for the relief package and loan.

NRCS also said that altogether 512 quake-hit families in the district were given tents for their temporary settlements.
