NSU wins Damauli FSU polls

The candidates of Nepal Student Union affiliated to Nepali Congress (Democratic) were elected in the Free Student Union in Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya Multiple Campus, Damauli, Tanahu.

Of the 11 posts, Nepal Student Union bagged 10 posts while NSU affiliated to Nepali Congress bagged one member’s post in the elections held on Tuesday. Tika Ram Dahal won the post of FSU president with 327 votes while his rival Hari Sigdel of NSU from common panel got only 240 votes.

Similarly, Hom Bahadur Rasaili, Manoj Khanal, Basanta Rana and Lalimaya Ale were elected as vice-president, secretary, assistant secretary and treasurer respectively. Kumar Laukali, Sunil Budhathoki, Mithun Dura, Pramod Uchche and Devi Rana of the Nepal Student Union were elected members in the Free Student Union. Bhim Kumari Ale of NSU affiliated to Nepali Congress was elected member. The agitating student unions including ANNFSU, NSU affiliated to Nepali Congress and ANNFSU (United) had filed their common candidacy in the polls while the winning NSU affiliated to Nepali Congress (Democratic) had joined hands with Nepal Free Student Front (NFSF), the student wing of Janamukti Party Nepal.

Among the total 803 students, 576 students had cast their votes in the election, according to Bidhyut Keshari Neupane, member of the election commission.
